With grandfathers who were both woodworkers, a father who was a successful framer and general contractor in Nova Scotia, and four uncles who still run woodworking shops across Canada, craftsmanship is in his blood.
Darrell's journey began in his teenage years, working in various woodworking shops and honing his skills. This experience led him to establish Nuthatch Nook Woodworks, a venture that allows him to balance his passion for woodworking with the joys of family life while building a strong customer base.
Raised in the Mennonite community of Northfield, Darrell carries the same dedication to quality workmanship that his ancestors brought with them when they settled the Canadian prairies in the 1800s. At Nuthatch Nook, you can expect the same commitment to excellence.

We avoid chipboard and MDF, opting instead for formaldehyde-free, veneer core, North American-made plywood and solid hardwood. This ensures the enduring value and longevity of your cabinets. Every piece of cabinetry is handcrafted in my own shop, then carefully delivered and installed in your home by our experienced team.
